The Rules
Machine and Magic At War
Machine and Magic At War
1. Language is to be kept at PG-13. Swearing, if done in excess, isn't tolerated. Please respect the fellow members around you.
2. No God-Modding, power playing, or metagaming. This means that a player is not allowed to move another player without the express permission or knowledge by the writer of said character. It ruins the fun for everybody when someone decides to try to overpower another writer simply for the sake of writing what they want. Please talk with the other writer to plan out events or threads to avoid the three stated no-no's.
3. Respect is given to everyone around here and thus is high on the rules. Please understand that everyone has their own views and respect them. Everyone has an opinion, so please be kind and allow for all opinions to be present. Respect others and you will be respected in turn.
4. Face Claims are to be manga/anime based. Video games characters may be accepted with manga/anime/art (fan art is good too) of the character.
5. Word count is 350. Please try to get at least 350 words in your post. If you are struggling, use emotions, what the character is doing, and what the character is saying to help you build your post.
6. No Drama-Llamas. If you have a problem with someone or something on the site, please contact a staff member and we will be able to help you. If you do cause drama or trouble on site, you will be warned first and then banned if the problem persists.
7. The time frame for this site is liquid time. This means that someone is able to be in multiple places at once AT DIFFERENT TIMES. This allows for a free-er mode for writing for the member.
8. Character limits are as follows on the site: One character is allowed for each new member, but in order to make another, you have to make a total of 35 posts for the first character before the member is allowed to make another one. However, the true cap for character creation is 4 characters. No more may be made after the limit is reached unless the member removes another of their characters from play. Though there is a chance to get more character slots, so to speak, by buying them from the site store.
9. Rules are subject to change. If a change is made, the staff will make it known in a special thread and then add to this list here.
10. All rated R scenes (smexy scenes) are to be faded to black due to the rating of proboards. You can do those out of the site if you so desire, just not here.
11. Respect everyone in the c-box. I realize that this is also in turn with the respect rule up above this, but this is a specific kind of respect. Do not harass members, cuss at, or do any sort of disrespect towards another member within the c-box (as well as just basically the site).
12. In the case of NPC's(Non- Playable Character) they are meant to be NPC's and not used as a secondary character. They are not meant to play a big part, fight for you, guard you, or anything in that matter. NPC's can help further your story or get the shit kicked out of you, that's fine. But an NPC is not meant to provide major support or save your butt. That's why we have Players and wanted ads. DO NOT POWER PLAY NPCS. A fine example is, lets say you have a dancer friend named Molly. Molly can appear in your work threads, you can talk to her and all that fun stuff. However, Molly can not hack a main frame. She isn't a sharpshooter, nor is the worlds fastest spell caster. She is an average joe with a joe. A normal person that is a friend with no purpose other then just talk to you or further your post. If you want a super hacker with beauty thats called a Wanted Ad for another player to pick up. In short: An NPC - appears once or twice in a thread and disappears for ever. A Wanted Ad is a character that you want to constantly appear and aid you in your plot line and fire big guns.
13. List all of your abilities/skills in your profile. If its not listed in their profile then they don't have it. Period. All profiles are locked once accepted and can not be adjusted. However, when you purchase a new skill/ability the admins will add it in for you. So no worries there!
